Pebble Rocks Boulder
September 24, 2015 – Kickstarter Update
The charging module production was on hold with the vendor until we recently received our Pebble Time Steel to test the charging module. Once we confirmed that it worked great with the PT Steel, the charging module tooling and production began last week. We’re expecting production samples of the charging module in mid October.
At this point, all of the Kickstarter funds have been allocated. The largest part is invested in tooling, production of components, and parts (screws, micro USB cables, packaging). Some of the minimum order quantities were higher than expected, like the 5,000 pcs for the charging module, requiring large investments in this first production run. The remainder is set aside for assembly, laser engraving, packing and shipping.
An Invitation from Pebble!
At the start of the month, the Engineerable team traveled out to Boulder, CO for the “Pebble Rocks Boulder” Hackathon and we brought prototype TimeDocks with us.
We were able to get some great TimeDock testing done, Meet the Pebble development team, and share the TimeDock with other Hackathon teams.
Here’s a quick video of the project:
There is a LOT more to the story at the hackathon page:
